Justin Morell - guitar

Justin Morell, guitarist, 28, is a graduate of U.C.L.A. and is currently freelancing and teaching privately. While his main interest is jazz performance and composition, he is also an experienced guitarist of all styles. Justin comes from a family of musicians: His father, John, is a jazz guitarist who has worked with everyone from Shelly Manne to Miles Davis, and his grandfather, Carl Fischer, composed such standards as "You've Changed" and "We'll Be Together Again." Some of Justin's career highlights have been performing with Russell Ferrante, Brandon Fields, Dizzy Gillespie, James Ingram, Johnny Mandel, Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine, and the Supremes.

Justin studied music at the Hamilton Academy of Music, and later received a Bachelor of Arts from U.C.L.A. with an emphasis in guitar performance and composition. He currently teaches many private students, ranging in age from children to adults, and has also taught private students, clinics and classes at the Harrison School of Music in Los Angeles.

Justin can be heard on CDs, television, and film as a guitarist and as a drummer, as well as recording engineer and producer. Some projects he's worked on include Lifetime Original Movies, TV sitcom "The Naked Truth," and various TV and radio jingles.

Justin plays a Gibson ES335, Carruthers custom long neck, Rivera amps, D'Addario strings, and Jim Dunlop picks.
